Free West Papua : Sorong City Flood Concern Charity Concert Enlivened by Ocha Sentuf and Crew, Ricko Marz and Sorong Dance Community
Reporting from Analisnews, Youth and Student Solidarity Concerned with Sorong City Flood, sponsored by Sorong City Online Market Sonjak and Legal Assistance Institution (LBH) Kaki Abu held a Charity Concert for 3 days, Monday 20 July - Wednesday 22 July, at the Sorong City Main Street red light. The concert with the theme "Action Rp. 1000 "aims to help residents affected by floods and landslides a few days ago and as an invitation to motorists to jointly care for those who have lost their homes and even claimed the lives of their families.
Also attending and enlivening the event were talented Papuan land singers including; Ocha Sentuf and crews, Rocka Marz, Rasta Marley and Sorong Dance Community. The artists sang songs and performed contemporary dances that moved the hearts of the people of Sorong City to be able to reach out to help residents affected by the flood disaster.
Met after the charity concert, the person in charge of the activity, Ricky N. Rosely explained that the Rp. 1000 is a charity movement in order to participate to help each other help others.
"We from Sonjak Sorong City appreciate very much the colleagues from LBH Kaki Abu, the Papua Land Artists, Sorong Dance Community, and all who participated in the success of this charity event. Our hope is that this action will at least be able to help victims who are severely affected by the flood. We also hope that in the future the Regional Government can be more serious in handling the problem of flooding that always occurs in this City, "explained Ricky.
In a press conference with the media crew, one of the famous singers of the land of Papua, Ocha Sentuf said that the social and charitable actions carried out were positive activities carried out sincerely to at least help the victims affected by the floods.
"Our actions are sincere in order to collect a thousand and two thousand to help ease the burden of our brothers and sisters affected by the floods in Sorong City a few days ago. Our hope for the future for the Government of Sorong City is that this incident will be repeated again. We do not intend to blame each other but let us unite and find the right solution to overcome all the problems that occur in this city that we love, "said Ocha.
During the fundraising action, Youth and Student Solidarity in Sorong City Flood Care raised humanitarian issues and concern for fellow human beings. The motto that is often used as a symbol is "We may differ in beliefs, but we are still one in humanity."
